1980: Gloria Gaynor wins Best Disco Recording Grammy Award

On this day, February 27th, 1980, 40 years ago, I Will Survive, by Gloria Gaynor won the first and last Grammy Award, ever awarded for Best Disco Recording. This song reached number 1 in the UK, on the Billboard Hot 100, in the USA, and around the world, in 1979.

Sid Vicious – My Way (1978)

John Simon Ritchie (10 May 1957 – 2 February 1979), known professionally as Sid Vicious, was an English bassist and vocalist. He achieved prominence as a member of the punk rock band the Sex Pistols. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sid_Vicious
