It’s Monday!
“I Don’t Like Mondays”, by the Irish band, The Boomtown Rats, was a Number One hit in the UK, in the Summer of 1979. But it only reached Number 74, on the Billboard Hot 100.
It was inspired by a School shooting in San Diego, by Brenda Spicer, in January 1979. When asked by a reporter why she did it, she apparently replied, ” I Don’t Like Mondays”.
